Boston Trip 2017 – Day 3

Happy Independence Day from Salem, MA

“Independence is happiness.” -Susan B. Anthony

After a leisurely morning and a quick stop at the Piazza’s bbq to visit with dear friends we ventured off for something different.

Leisurely Lego pirate ship morning

This year we spent Independence Day in Salem, MA. Brian’s parents went on a harbor tour last year on the Schooner Fame of Salem and got to see a spectacular fireworks show afterwards. They really thought we would enjoy it and bought tickets in advance. So, we spent the late afternoon/evening in Salem. The harbor sunset sail was very nice. The family that owns the boat and conducts the tour are very nice and it really make it a great experience. If you are ever in the area we are highly recommend the tour.

Prior to our journey on the Schooner Fame we walked around the Salem Maritime National Park and enjoyed some of the free kids activities. Ms. Violet got a butterfly painted on her face and both kids enjoyed some games where they won a few fun prizes.
