International Day of Yoga

Happy International Day of Yoga! What better way to stretch your muscles, breathe deep, and take your mind off this pandemic than to spend 30 minutes in a relaxation session? Apple even created a Yoga Day Challenge with the chance to earn the limited edition Yoga Challenge Award by just committing yourself to 20 minutes of yoga today. You know we had to earn it! It’s gorgeous too.

I did it! I earned the Yoga Day Challenge award!

“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.“

-Buddha

My word of the year for 2020 is intention and yoga has been helping me all year to focus my energy in it. I’ve worked really hard to stay productive, especially with all that is going on in the world. I’ve vowed, to myself, to finally finish those last few units to complete my degree, to finish painting the house, and to give back to my community by working hard in both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts programs.

Yoga has not helped me to lose any weight yet but I can say that it has definitely helped me to stay centered, focused, and strong. I’m sure if I still with it consistently and eat well, the possibilities are endless. For now, I’m taking one thing at a time but with the intention of working towards weight loss too. For now, I’m taking one goal at a time so I don’t get overwhelmed or frustrated. I believe I can do anything I set my mind to and yoga helps me to be mindful and live with intention. May you enjoy the same today and everyday.

Namaste,

Maureen
